Fellow university agricultural faculty,
Just a reminder that the “Early Bird Registration Deadline” for the Experience the Experience Opportunity is February 15th (involves $250/discount). Final registration deadline is April 15th. I have attached the syllabus for your review. The primary purpose of the experience is to empower an educator to lead their own global immersion experiences around agriculture in the future. To be sure we assist all participants, we are limiting the opportunity to 24 educators. The essential questions that will be addressed include:
1) What is the compelling reason? Addressing the WHY!
2) What are best practices in effective experiences? Addressing the HOW!
3) Where do we go from here? Addressing the WHAT NOW!
4) What is the historical context of agriculture in Belize?
5) How does production agriculture occur in Belize?
6) How does youth development and agricultural education occur in Belize?
While we would love to have you join us, we would also like to provide service for your graduate students, your state’s extension educators, and/or your state’s secondary school-based agricultural educators. We ARE NOT looking to enroll folks in a “PSU” graduate course, we WOULD be enthusiastic about working with you to meet the needs of an affordable graduate credit option in your state if you are so interested. We have some partners looking at offering “independent study” based on the experience which we are glad to assist in anyway with for documentation, etc. Together, we can help all of our learners have “accessible” transformative learning experiences.
Please call if you have questions. Melanie and I would love to travel and learn with you (or your students)!
