As it is most pressing, we would like to share a few updates on our annual meeting. We are continuing with our preparations and continue to follow the public health advisory from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in regards to the COVID-19 situation happening all around the globe.
We understand that some registered participants may be more impacted than others. While we are mindful of the developing situation, at present we do not foresee any significant impact on the meeting and plan to continue as scheduled.
NACTA will be extending the early bird deadline for meeting registration to May 8, 2020. As many universities are deliberating on instruction methods and travel restrictions for the coming months, your ability to register for a conference may be uncertain. As fellow educators, we understand and share that uncertainty and hope that you will still plan to visit our meeting in Las Cruces in June.
We appreciate your understanding and would like to thank all who have been in touch and have engaged with us. We can assure you we are working closely with New Mexico State University and the appropriate authorities to make sure your visit to Las Cruces is as safe and enjoyable as possible. We will continue to monitor the reported spread of disease and send additional updates if needed. We encourage everyone to visit the conference website often for updates and developments as they occur.
