The NACTA 2023 Annual Conference will feature several unique and engaging workshops throughout the conference. One of our first-time workshops is NACTA Journal Reviewer Certification, which will be given on Friday, June 23.

Peer-review is an integral component to scholarly publication. The peer review process not only upholds the quality of literature in a discipline but also advances the knowledge base that develops future research. However, reviewers report that they have not received training even though a majority would like the opportunity. NACTA reviewers face the additional challenge of simultaneously understanding issues in higher education beyond their disciplinary interest. Upon completion of the workshop, we will certify participants as reviewers for NACTA journal as outlined in the new journal standard operating procedures.
