On behalf of the Executive Committee, NACTA would like to congratulate Shelly Legg on receiving the NACTA 2024 Distinguished Educator Award at the 70th Annual NACTA Meeting in June. This award is meant to recognize meritorious service to NACTA and to higher education through teaching, educational research, and/or administration. 
Shelly Legg, Oklahoma State University NACTA Distinguished Educator Award This award is meant to recognize meritorious service to NACTA and to higher education through teaching, educational research, and/or administration. Those eligible must be current or retired NACTA members and have ten or more years of service to higher education. Shelly was nominated and supported by several NACTA members, coworkers, students and friends. Dr. Legg joined the faculty as an agricultural communications instructor in February 1992 and is now a professor. She teaches three classes, oversees internships, and serves as an academic adviser for the discipline. She is managing editor for the Cowboy Journal magazine, the publication produced by students each semester in her AGCM 4413 Agricultural Communications Capstone course. Legg is actively involved in the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture organization. Her primary community service work is with the FFA and Payne County 4-H. It is with sincere appreciation and gratitude for her continued efforts and outstanding service that we bestow this award to our dear friend and colleague, Shelly Legg. Congratulations, and thank you for all that you do for NACTA and higher education.
