We are now accepting applications for two NACTA Journal Associate Editor positions. The terms of these positions will initially be for 3 years so that all positions do not turn over at the same time. Each of the positions may be renewed for a second 3-year term. The details of the two positions are presented below:

Manuscript Review Associate Editor
The Manuscript Review Associate Editor would be assigned a list of manuscripts to work with by the Editor-in-Chief. The assignments would be made based on manuscript topic and workload with each Associate Editor responsible for each submitted manuscript. The Manuscript Review Associate Editor would approve submitted manuscripts for review, receive completed reviews, and make their recommendation for each submitted manuscript based on those reviews. They would also work with the authors to address any revisions requested by the reviewers and communicate their recommendation on the fate of the manuscript to the Editor-in-Chief, who would make the final decision. The manuscript topics currently used are:

  • Innovative Teaching and Learning
  • Global Education
  • Scholarship of Teaching and Learning
  • Online Programming
  • College/University Curriculum
  • K-12 Curriculum
  • Community Learning/Extension

Ideally, the Manuscript Review Associate Editor could cover three of these topic areas.

Journal Awards Associate Editor
The Associate Editor for Journal Awards provides leadership to the annual selection of the E.B. Knight and Jack Everly manuscript awards and the Bob Gough Teaching Tip Award. The Journal Awards Associate Editor convenes a review committee to read and review a subset of manuscripts published in the most recent journal based on the approved journal award selection criteria. This position is appointed by Chair of the Educator Recognition Committee in consultation with the Journal Editor-in-Chief based on application from interested, current NACTA Journal reviewers. This position requires strong communication and organizational skills and is supported by the JulNet staff. The Associate Editor for Journal Awards serves on the NACTA Journal Editorial Board as a three-year appointment.

The deadline to apply is October 11, 2024.
