NACTA Roundup with President Cheryl Wachenheim

Dear Colleagues,

The semester is underway and fall is upon us. I hope you are taking the time to enjoy your favorite fall activities. Up north we have had excellent weather for fall camping and are eagerly awaiting those first snowflakes. You are always welcome to visit us in Fargo.

Your leadership team is actively working on incorporating feedback from the town hall session and other feedback from the annual meeting as we plan for this year’s meeting in Edmonton, Alberta. Should be an amazing time. NACTA Committees are hard at work enriching the experience for members. For example, the Experiential Learning Committee is planning a webinar series and your Regional Directors are working behind the scenes to build their teams and continue the legacy of NACTA community. We are excited to see how you are interested in participating from the member engagement survey.

As the semester continues to get busy, keep an eye towards upcoming deadlines for awards, workshops, abstracts, and nominations. And, as always, feel free to reach out with questions or suggestions.

Have an amazing month,
Cheryl

About 6 months.

Connecting with other regions.

What interesting things are you working on outside of the Association right now?
I am working on internal pathways for our new Digital Agriculture Degree that involve AI and Analytics.

What is your most memorable teaching moment?
My most memorable teaching moment always involves a very hands-on activity, such as working with cattle out on our Smart Farm and the students.

As the NACTA Canadian Regional Director, what do you enjoy most about this position/being involved with NACTA in this way?
I see huge potential to recover our membership and network for NACTA in Canada and make sure we are well represented and contributors.
